- After an apprenticeship at Martin Grashoff's gardening enterprise in Quedlinburg, from 1837 til 1840 gardener at his parents' market garden in Quedlinburg from 1840 til 1850; 1850 founding of the family enterprise «Gebrüder Dippe» together with his brother Lorenz; since 1863 sole owner of the enterprise.
