Theological and philosophical studies; ordained as a priest; Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Avignon; 1617-23, Professor of philosophy, University of Aix en Provence; 1624-45 canon at the cathedral in Gigne; 1645-48 taught mathematics at the Royal College of France.
