Apparatus for mixing colors by the combination of colored gelatine papers. After Münsterberg, by Elbs, Freiburg The gelatine papers were slipped into place like lenses, being mounted on levers.
There are two devices on the Harvard photographs, that match Münsterbergs decription "77. Apparatus for mixing colors by the combination of colored gelatine papers. After Münsterberg, by Elbs, Freiburg". The first one is shown here, the other one can be seen in an experimental setting in use together with the <link ref="tec2960">Magic Lantern</link>.
See also a color photograph of this device, its "second version", in the <link href='http://dssmhi1.fas.harvard.edu/emuseumdev/code/emuseum.asp?rawsearch=Number%2F%2C%2Fis%2F%2C%2FWJ0029%2F%2C%2F0%2F%2C%2F0'>Harvard Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments</link>.

note = {{Comment II Rand Evans: The attachment on the front
of the magic lantern is Muensterberg’s color
mixer made from a set of colored gels.
Munsterberg Nr. 77. The gels were slipped into
place like lenses, being mounted on levers. This
device seems to be in use in one of the other
photos in Muensterberg’s article (kk: link to
image in PDF). I will look for some reference to
this device in Muensterberg’s publications.
