Georges Cuvier

Bio: * 1769, Mömpelgard; † 1832, Paris
Career: Studied philosophy, natural science and cameralia at the Karlsschule, Stuttgart; 1786 house teacher of Count d'Héricy in the Normandy; 1795-99 worked at the Muséum national d'histoire national in Paris; 1799-1832 professor of comparative anatomy at the Collége de France, Paris; since 1802 secretary of the mathematical-physical class of the academy of sciences, Paris; was appointed several public offices; founded the paleological branch of zoology.
